Showcasing Denbighshire At The Urdd
Wednesday 17th Apr 2024
An exhibition showcasing Denbighshire as a destination will be on show at Eisteddfod yr Urdd, taking place in Cardiff Bay next week.
Thousands of people are expected to flock to Cardiff for the annual cultural festival, the largest youth festival of its kind in Europe and will compete in a wide range of cultural competitions. Many schools from Denbighshire will also be travelling to Cardiff to represent the county.
The Council will have a stand located near the Millennium Centre, to encourage Eisteddfod visitors to travel to Denbighshire for the festival in May 2020 and will be promoting the wealth of attractions in county, as well as places to visit, things to do and options for accommodation.
Liz Grieve, Head of Customers, Communications and Marketing, said: “Work is well underway to prepare for the Urdd’s visit to Denbighshire next year and we want to make sure that visitors have the best possible experience and become repeat visitors to the county.
“This is a great platform to promote Denbighshire as a destination, advising visitors about the accommodation available and how they can go about booking their places to stay in advance. The local economy will benefit from the tune of around £6 million from the Urdd’s visit to our county and we want to make sure that we attract the regular Eisteddfod visitors to travel to our special part of North East Wales and those new to Denbighshire are informed about the great experience awaiting them in our beautiful county”.
