New Wrexham Town Centre Police Station Set To Open

Thursday 28th Mar 2024

Our new Wrexham Town centre police station is set to be operational from Friday May 24.

Located at the former Oriel Gallery adjacent to Wrexham Library, the modern facility will house officers and staff who police the town.

Local officers moved into nearby Crown Buildings in January after the Eastern Divisional HQ at Bodhyfrd was closed while other teams and civilian staff relocated to the new divisional HQ in Llay.

The new station in LLwyn Isaf will be the base for more than 100 officers and staff made up of patrol teams, including special constables who provide a vital resource, Neighbourhood teams, consisting of police officers and police community support officers as well as being the location for Wrexham Town Sergeants and the Town Inspector, Vic Powell.

Inspector Vic Powell said; “We are all very excited to be moving into our new premises. We look forward to being in the heart of the town centre where we can continue to provide a quality service, in a fit for purpose building, to the communities of Wrexham as we have always strived to do so.

“We may have changed station, but our commitment to serving and protecting the people of Wrexham remains the same.”

North Wales Police and Crime Commissioner Arfon Jones said: “The opening of the new town centre police station is evidence of my commitment to providing the best possible police service in Wrexham.

“The old, high rise police station had come to the end of its useful life and was not fit for purpose so we have already opened a new, state-of-the art divisional HQ just down the road in in Llay.

“The additional investment in the new town centre police station means we now have the best of both worlds to ensure we have a strong and continued presence in Wrexham itself.”
