Mon-sar Gets Pact Funding

Mon-SAR, the Lowland Search and Rescue organisation run by volunteers on Anglesey is closer to getting specialist night vision equipment thanks to a grant from PACT.
Mon-SAR was recently presented with a cheque for £250 from the PACT fund to buy an FLIR camera.
A spokesperson for Mon-SAR said: “The FLIR camera is an essential piece of equipment that we need as it will greatly assist in searches in the dark especially in places such as forests and mountains as it uses heat seeking technology similar to that used by Police helicopters.”
PC Tracey Hughes, added: “As a member of the Police Search Advisor team we work closely with voluntary search and rescue groups who are a valued resource. By providing this donation it will assist the team in increasing their funds towards a vital piece of equipment.”
Mon-SAR is the Lowland Search and Rescue organisation run by volunteers on Anglesey who carry out searches and rescues on behalf of North Wales Police when missing persons are reported and deemed to be at risk.
It was formed just over 3 years ago and is growing in numbers due to the dedication of its volunteers who give their time not only on searches but to attend regular training in readiness to be called out 24/7, 365 days a year.
Further donations are still required to enable the team to purchase the camera which costs in the region of £1600-£2000. Any person or business who can help can contact Mon-SAR through their website or Facebook page.
