Homeless Prevention Team To Be Based In Community

Friday 19th Apr 2024

A homelessness prevention team is to be based in the community.

From Monday, September 23, Denbighshire residents who find themselves at risk of or those who are homeless, can present themselves to the Ask Centre, Water Street, Rhyl, to talk to members of Denbighshire County Council’s Homeless Prevention Team.

A number of different agencies will be based at the centre to provide support, including Citizens Advice Denbighshire, officers from the homeless team and the Council’s Working Denbighshire team.

Cllr Bobby Feeley, the Council’s Lead Member for Well-being and Independence, said: “Housing is a priority for the Council and we are working hard to ensure everyone is supported to live in homes that meet their needs.

“The Council’s aim is to end homelessness within Denbighshire.  We realise this is an ambitious aim, but one we feel is important.

“This six-month pilot involves us working proactively and basing part of our team with other services to look at early intervention, prevention and a more holistic approach.

“We have a committed and dedicated team who work tirelessly to meet the needs of families and individuals and anyone who attends and is in need will be offered support.”
