Appeal Following Rhyl Robberies

Police in Rhyl are appealing to the public in relation to a number of robberies in the town.
Over the last few weeks three commercial premises have been targeted; the Best-One Shop and Post Office on St Margaret’s Drive, The Co-Op on Ffordd Elen and Corbetts betting shop on Cefndy Road.
The offences happened at various times of the day and night. Police are keeping an open mind as to whether these incidents involve one or more offenders.
Denbighshire Chief Inspector Andrew Williams said: “Detectives and local officers are heavily engaged in investigating these crimes, and our priority is to do everything we can to prevent similar incidents. If you see anyone hanging around the shops in the town in a manner that makes you feel concerned or uncomfortable, I would ask you to call 999.”
“To date thankfully nobody has been hurt. I would therefore urge people not to intervene by way of confronting the offender if they witness anything suspicious. Personal safety in these circumstances is the absolute priority and an immediate call to the police is the best response.”
Police patrols in the area have been stepped up to reassure the community and to deter further offences.
