From Special Constables, Cadet Leaders to BikeSafe volunteers and Community Horsewatch and many others, North Wales Police volunteers help build important links between the police and communities, providing opportunities for individuals to make a positive contribution to their local area.

Of course many of our own officers and staff also volunteer with other agencies – such as the RNLI, Mountain Rescue Teams, Childline and are involved with local clubs and sports.

National Volunteers’ Week is a national celebration of volunteers and volunteering which takes place from 1st to 7th June each year with the aim of recognising, rewarding and recruiting volunteers.

Assistant Chief Constable Sacha Hatchett said: “It is a great privilege to recognise and thank all of our volunteers for their endless energy and unwavering commitment that they give without any thought of personal recognition.

“All week we’ve been using our social media channels to promote some of our volunteers including Special Constables and Cadets. But we’ve also been highlighting some of our officers and staff who also volunteer outside of work.

“It’s really important that we recognise and celebrate all of their fantastic work. Their commitment throughout these times to help keep our communities safe has been hugely welcome.

“To all of our Volunteers - thank you for everything you do, and for all the help and support you provide to our officers and staff. It never goes unnoticed.”
