Today (23/02/21) Conwy’s Cabinet has approved a plan for a consultation on the draft Library and Information Strategy 2021-2026.

The draft Library and Information Strategy sets out what needs to be done over the next five years to make sure Conwy’s Library and Information Service continues to offer a good quality service.

Over recent years, it’s been a Council priority to develop libraries into community hubs that provide a wide range of services and activities.  The Council’s previous strategy resulted in more varied library opening hours; mobile library routes in the areas most remote from library buildings; and the establishment of five community libraries.

The draft Library and Information Strategy 2021-26 includes a list of actions to be carried out over the next five years:

Cabinet Members agreed that library users, partner organisations and interested parties should be asked for their views on the draft strategy.

The consultation on the draft Library and Information Strategy 2021-26 will start at the end of May 2020.
