Mental Health Support By Text

Thursday 25th Apr 2024

To mark Mental Health Awareness Week, Conwy Cabinet Member Cllr Cheryl Carlisle is raising awareness of a text based service available across Conwy for people of all ages needing mental health support.

Conwy residents feeling overwhelmed or struggling to cope can get around the clock free mental health help from a great text messaging support service by the charity Mental Health Innovations.

By texting the word CONWY to 85258 you will be connected to a trained volunteer who will text you back and forth, and work with you to take your next steps towards feeling better. They can help with a range of issues from stress, anxiety and depression, to relationship problems and bullying.

This is a free, anonymous, confidential service and available any time of day or night, 7 days a week.

Conwy Cabinet Member, Cllr Cheryl Carlisle who has responsibility for Community Mental Health, has welcomed the service and is urging people to reach out and get the support they need.

She said, “The past year has been difficult for so many people, I hope that any Conwy residents experiencing issues relating to their mental wellbeing will reach out and text 85258; there is support available please get in touch.”

Text CONWY to 85258 for immediate support.
