Thursday 18th Apr 2024

Officers from North Wales Police, assisted by colleagues from the Cheshire and North Wales Armed Alliance Unit have this morning (Thursday 11 July) executed warrants at several properties in Bangor, in connection with County Lines drug dealing.

As a result of this operation, four Closure Notices have been served on properties in Plas Popty and Llys Mair.  Suspected class A and B drugs, and a weapon were seized at one address.

This was supplemented with patrols by plain clothes officers in the Maesgeirchen area of Bangor this morning, resulting in 3 people being stopped, searched and arrested for drug supply offences. In total 4 people are in custody.

Several other addresses were visited in order to support potentially vulnerable residents in resisting County Lines activities.

Detective Inspector Dafydd Curry said: “North Wales Police, like local residents are fed up of individuals coming into our area to sell drugs. We will continue to pursue this type of policing, the aim of which is to ensure the safety of the public.

“We would like to thank the local community for their ongoing support in tackling this criminality, I would encourage them to continue to give us the information and we will act on it.”
