Serious Injury Collision Near Eglwysbach: Appeal

Police are renewing their appeal for witnesses after two people were seriously injured following a road traffic collision on the bank holiday weekend.

At 18:35hrs on Sunday, August 25th North Wales Police were called to a report of a two-vehicle collision on the A470 between Glan Conwy and Tal-y-Cafn near to the entrance of Bodnant Gardens.

The collision involved a blue Honda Civic, which was travelling from the direction and Llanrwst, and a white Audi A3 which was travelling in the opposite direction.

The male driver of the Honda Civic was airlifted to hospital in Stoke where he remains with with serious injuries. The male driver, female front-seat passenger and young baby from the Audi were all taken to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd by ambulance. The driver and baby were released from hospital with minor injuries, however the female passenger was later transferred to hospital in Stoke where she also remains with serious injuries.

PC Robert Williams of the Roads Policing Unit said: “The road was quite busy at the time due to it being a bank holiday weekend and we continue to appeal to anybody who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.

“We are also keen on speaking to anybody who may have seen either vehicle being driven just prior to the collision, or to anybody who may have been travelling along the A470 around the time of the incident and who may have dash cam footage.”
