Sergeant Mike Norbury of North Wales Police is appealing for the public to play their part in helping deny criminals use of the roads by correctly filling out the V5 document and sending it to the DVLA with the new keeper details.
You are legally obliged to notify the DVLA of any change and failing to do so could lead to a fine.
Often when sales are made via local websites and cold calling, the paperwork is not being completed correctly and the purchaser, if a criminals, assures you they will fill it out and save you the effort.
The paperwork is never completed and the vehicle become untraceable, often used as a Pool Car to commit crime.
Please help us to make North Wales the safest place in the UK.
