Childcare Offer

Childcare Offer

Wednesday 24th Apr 2024

The Welsh Government have commissioned community researchers through IAITH Cyf to undertake an exercise to speak to parents / carers in the Rhyl/Prestatyn areas who have children eligible for the Childcare offer for 3 year olds but who have decided not to take it up in full/at all, (any time since the start of the programme - child could be in school now).

The parent / carer would need to meet Gaenor Roberts, the researcher for this area in a mutually convenient location i.e. café/park etc. for an informal chat to find out their opinion as to why they're not taking up the offer, looking at barriers etc., in order to feed in to a Welsh Government report. Just half an hour to an hour of informal chat, with a goody bag given to all participants.

In particular, within the target group there is a need to speak to a wide ranging mix of parents, including single parent families, two parent families, first language Welsh/English/Other languages, low income families, black and minority ethnic, families with Special Educational Needs and Disability Services child, travellers etc.

If you are parents/carers who haven’t taken up the offer and would like to participate in this research, please get in touch with Denbighshire Family Information Service who will forward your details to the researcher.
