Today at Caernarfon Crown Court Thomas Bell aged 31 was sentenced to 5 years and 4 months and Jordan Cretney aged 27 was sentenced to 6 years and 9 months after they both pleaded guilty to robbery at the Londis Store on Ffordd Isa, Prestatyn, on 16th November 2018.

Both men, from the Prestatyn area, entered the store and threatened the victim with an axe before stealing cash from the till. After failing to answer bail, Bell was at large until November 2019.

Welcoming the sentence DC 3112 Liam Jones of Central CID said: “This was a violent robbery in which the shop assistant was threatened with an axe.  I would like to recognise the victim’s bravery and to thank the witnesses who have assisted in the investigation.”

The victim, who does not wish to be named, added: “I’m pleased to see that the two responsible have been brought to justice and I welcome the sentences they have been given. Maybe they will use the time to reflect on what they’ve done.”
