Police continue to work with a number of specialist teams and a full recovery operation is has been completed at the remote scene in Cwm Penmachno.

Detective Chief Inspector Sion Williams said: “We would like to thank the public for their cooperation while we work in difficult circumstances to establish what happened on Sunday evening.”

Police and North Wales Fire and Rescue Service were called at 7.34pm on Sunday 21st June to a report of a vehicle fire in a field in a rural location in Cwm Penmachno.

DCI Williams added: “The investigation is still ongoing and we are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen a light blue Renault Scenic being driven around the area between 4.30pm and 7.30pm on Sunday.”
