International Drugs Day - Central Day Of Action

Three people have been arrested following a series of raids in Conwy and Denbighshire today, Friday 26th June, as part of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking
As a result of the five warrants executed in Denbigh, Rhyl, Prestatyn and Llandudno during a day long proactive policing operation within the Central division, drugs including what were believed to be class A and class B were seized.
A large amount of cash has also been seized as well as mobile phones.
Those arrested, two women and a man from the Denbigh and Rhyl areas, are currently being investigated for drug related offences.
Chief Inspector Alwyn Williams said: “The success of this operation sends out a clear message that the communities of North Wales will not tolerate this behaviour and that North Wales Police will continue to support the communities in tackling this problem in a fair and robust manner.”
He added: “The operation was undertaken as a result of information received from members of the public, relating to people being concerned in the supply of illegal drugs. We have also targeted the road networks and worked with officers from across the region to combat drugs activity and safeguard the public”

In response to the day Ann Jones AM said: “I am pleased to see the proactive work by North Wales Police officers in Denbigh and Rhyl in carrying out these successful drug warrants. It is good to know that even in the times of additional pressures on safety with the effects of Coronavirus, the work still carries on to rid our streets of these dangerous and harmful drugs. Well done to all involved.”
