Wynne Construction has been awarded the contract to build the new Disability Respite Centre and Café, Shop and Support Facilities at Bron y Nant, Dinerth Road, Colwyn Bay.
Bron y Nant, near Colwyn Bay Crematorium, is being developed into a Disability Respite Facility and Complex Care day centre on the top site.
The Disability Respite Facility will provide 5 fully furnished apartments, communal space and support staff accommodation for those with disability support needs. The Complex Care day centre will provide daily respite services for those with complex needs.
On the lower site, Bryn Euryn Nurseries will be developed to provide a café, shop and plant selling area, and the access to the cemetery and nurseries will be integrated.
Wynne Construction will move on site from 26 April and the work to construct the Disability Respite Centre and Café, Shop and Support Facilities is expected to take about 60 weeks.
The cost of the build is £5.5million funded through Welsh Government Integrated Care Fund (ICF) and prudential borrowing.
