Friday 29th Mar 2024

Susan Davies of Gors Road, Towyn was found guilty following trial at Llandudno Magistrates Court on 10th June 2021 for numerous breaches of a Noise Abatement Notice served on her for excessive dog barking from dogs housed at her property.

Mrs Davies was ordered to pay a £400 fine, £800 costs and a victim surcharge of £40 making a total £1,240.

Cllr Goronwy Edwards, Cabinet Member for Housing and Regulatory, said, “Officers in Regulatory Services have seen an increase in the number of dog barking complaints during the pandemic, this verdict should be seen as a clear warning to other people that they cannot allow their dogs to adversely affect the quality of life of their neighbours”

During both the investigation of the complaint to determine a noise nuisance and for collecting evidence for the prosecution the complainants submitted in the region of 1,500 Noise App recordings to demonstrate how they were being affected by the noise from the dogs over a period of 12 months.  https://www.thenoiseapp.com/#/
