Road Works: B4406, Penmachno Road

Road Works: B4406, Penmachno Road

Thursday 18th Apr 2024

Work starts: 26 July 2021
Work finishes: 6 August 2021

The road will not be closed for this work. Traffic will be managed from Penmachno Mill (crossroads) to the A5 junction (Conwy Falls Cafe), with a convoy vehicle escorting traffic through the site.

What is road surface dressing?
First we spray bitumen binder (a sticky tar-like substance) on a road surface, then spread stone chippings on top. After this the surface is rolled to push the stones in, but some loose stones will stay on the top. Vehicles driving over the new road surface will push these in to finish the surface. We the add a binder coat to seal the surface, before repainting the road markings.

We will then give the road a final sweep after a few weeks to clear up any loose stones.

Covid-19
Our contractor will comply with current Covid-19 guidelines. Please respect the 2m social distancing rule and do not approach the workforce.
