Have Your Say On Walking And Cycling Improvements

Friday 26th Apr 2024

Conwy County Borough Council is asking residents to help improve walking and cycling routes in the county.

The public are invited to submit their views on where they would like to see better facilities for everyday walking and cycling journeys, as part of the Welsh Government’s Active Travel scheme.

Active Travel means making everyday journeys by walking, cycling or wheeling (such as using wheelchairs and mobility scooters) instead of using transport such as cars or buses. An Active Travel route connects to places of education, work, retail or leisure facilities.

Councillor Greg Robbins, Cabinet Member for Environment and Transportation, said: “We want to find out where residents would like to see better facilities for walking and cycling, and find out what’s stopping them from using the existing routes at the moment. We’ll use this information to update our map of future Active Travel routes. We’ve already introduced several new Active Travel routes, such as the one in Conwy which links to Ysgol Aberconwy via Bodlondeb and provides a safer route for pupils to get to school and for residents to get into the shops.”
