North Wales Police and North Wales Fire and Rescue Service have launched a joint investigation following a fire in the Belgrano area of Abergele.

The fire service and police officers attended the fire in the Criafolen area of Belgrano shortly before midnight on Sunday 12th May.

Detective Sergeant Rob Mahoney said: “Thankfully no-one was injured as a result of the fire, which appears to have been deliberately started in a Ford Kuga. The fire then spread to adjacent garages causing significant damage to the buildings and to two vehicles parked nearby.”

“We’re looking to speak to anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area before the fire started and we are particularly keen to speak to three males who alerted the vehicle owners at around 11.40pm on Sunday.”
